Older children spread the Corona virus more frequently in their homes than younger children and adults, according to a new study in South Korea that included 5,706 people with the virus.
The agency "Bloomberg" news agency quoted an early version of the results of the study published on the website of the "American Center for Disease Control and Prevention" that the researchers tracked and examined nearly 60,000 people who had contact with the infected, and concluded that on average, 11.8% of those who are in contact with the home are infected With corona virus.
For contacts of infected persons between the ages of 10 and 19, the infection rate was 18.6% within approximately 10 days after the first case was discovered in the same home - the highest rate of transmission among the groups studied.
Children under the age of 10 were less likely to spread the virus, yet researchers warned that this could change when schools reopen.
The study comes on the heels of intense debate over whether and when to resume studies in schools.
Working parents around the world are striving to strike a balance between their telework and the additional ramifications of school closures.
There is intense pressure on political leaders. In the United States, President Donald Trump's administration threatened to withhold federal funds for local school areas that had not been reopened.
