The most important ways to treat a runny nose

A runny nose helps the body get rid of viral infections, but sometimes it becomes a very troublesome condition, so what are the ways to treat a runny nose? Here are the most important.

A common symptom of a common cold is a runny nose, as a runny nose helps the body fight viral infections.

Nasal secretions contain anti-viruses. During a runny nose, viruses with secretions come out of the body.

Causes of a runny nose

These are the most important causes of a runny nose:

1- Allergy
Allergies are a common cause of nasal cyanosis and are called "hay fever". The nasal secretions are usually very transparent and light. People with hay fever usually experience additional symptoms, including:

Sneezing.
Itching.
Watery eyes.
In most cases, this condition extends for several weeks or months and usually occurs in the spring or fall. In these seasons, many particles of flower dust or other allergens are present in the air.

Other substances that may cause an allergic cold are dust, mites, animal fur, etc.

2- Nose drops
Another reason for feeling nasal retention is the continued use of nasal drops (sprays). It is prohibited to use nasal drops containing substances such as pseudophenafrine for more than three days.
This problem can be dealt with by replacing the treatment with salt water drops for several days.

3- Cold
Complications of the common cold come from excess mucus, which may leak across the back of the nose into the pharynx, causing throat pain and coughing that worsens at night.
Common cold drops may block hearing channels between the nasal and ear passages and may cause ear infections and pain. The sinus channels may be blocked and lead to infection and inflammation (sinusitis).

4- Head blow
Headache is a very rare but serious condition, which in turn may lead to a cold.
If a person had a clear discharge from the nose that started right after his head was struck, it is possible that the injury was serious and that the spinal fluid was leaking through the nose. You have to treat this as an emergency.

Treating a runny nose

A tissue or a tissue can be used to wipe the nose from the safe release of the common cold, virus parts and allergic parts out of the body. There are no side effects of the incest and the cost is less than the cost of medications.

If we have to use medications, there are two types:

Anti-blockages, such as psaudofenafrine: as the sinuses of the nose shrink and its passages open.
Antihistamines: block allergic reactions and reduce the amount of secretions.
Anti-blocking materials cause some children to be more active than necessary. Part of the antihistamines that cause drowsiness and affect continuous sleep.

If you want to treat a cold with medications, the nose points will work. Nose points made with saline solutions are useful for young children.

While older children as well as adults can use points that contain anti-blocking materials.

Often complications can be prevented, such as ear infections and sinuses, if we make sure that the mucous fluid is light and not thick and sticky, and therefore does not block the nasal passages.
